Dem Gebäude zugrunde liegt die Idee einer “metonymen Landschaft”, die die vorherigen Existenzen dies Ortes neu interpretiert: eine historische Verteidungsfestung aus der Joseon-Dynastie und später ein wichtiges Mehrzweckstadion, welches die japanische Kolonialmacht errichtet hatte und dann 2007 abgerissen wurde. Das Gebäude selbst bildet eine neofuturistische Stadtlandschaft, die an jeder Stelle überraschende Perspektiven offenbart. Das Foto entstand kurz nach der Eröffnung des Gebäudes, welches 2014 von Architektin Zaha Hadid fertiggestellt wurde. Druck mit Weißrand.

The building is based on the idea of a "metonymic landscape" that reinterprets the previous existences of this location: a historic defense fortress from the Joseon Dynasty and later an important multi-purpose stadium built by the Japanese colonial power and then demolished in 2007. The building itself forms a neo-futuristic urban landscape that reveals surprising perspectives at every turn. The Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul by architect Zaha Hadid was completed in 2014.
